The 2022 Château Malartic-Lagravière Grand Cru Classé is nothing short of a showstopper—one of the most thrilling kosher Bordeaux releases in recent memory. This masterful blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot bursts from the glass with an opulent bouquet of blackcurrant, ripe plum, and blackberry, wrapped in layers of graphite, cedar, and exotic spice. On the palate, it’s pure luxury: velvety tannins and vibrant freshness carry waves of dark fruit, cocoa, and savory minerality, unfolding with stunning precision and depth. The finish is seemingly endless, leaving a trail of elegance and power that marks it as a wine destined for greatness. This is Pessac-Léognan grandeur at its peak—crafted to impress today and evolve into a true legend for decades to come.

Tasting Notes

97  Points James Suckling

A fascinating Malartic-Lagraviere from this hot vintage, but the wine is surprisingly fresh, showing depth, innate balance and complexity. The mineral-etched fruit turns glossy, with fine aromas of cassis, berries, plums, spices and a hint of violets. Almost full-bodied, with a complete package of fruit and chalky tannins. Long, juicy and posh. One of the best ever. Drink from 2027.

94 Points Vinous

The 2022 Malartic Lagravière has a graceful and delineated bouquet that shows more precision and nascent vibrancy than most of its peers. It has blackberry, raspberry and light violet petal scents and an underlying marine influence that becomes more vocal with time. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-boned tannins, offering impressive balance. This "cool" Pessac-Léognan has a sapid finish that draws you back for more. It is excellent. 2030 - 2065
